    Backgrounds Empty Backgrounds

Post  RandomGuard Sun May 27, 2012 6:03 am

I've been thinking about the backgrounds, and figured that CGI backgrounds with some photoshopping would be the best bet.
It gives us a lot of flexibility, allowing plenty of different angles to the writer's liking.
    Pre-photoshop:

    Photoshop:

    Different angle, without photoshop:

These were done pretty quickly using a scene I had already made, but it gives you an idea of what I'm talking about.

What program did you use to make the CGI scene? I have photoshop so I could be of some help, although I'm not too experienced with it.

For the render, I used a combination of SketchUp, V-Ray and Photoshop.
SketchUp to physically make the scene, V-ray to edit the textures and render it, Photoshop for finishing touches.
As for helping, that depends, show me what you can do!

I created the building as a test for an old art project, with a bit of tweaking this is what you get.

Here's one I just finished there, it's a much higher quality.
    Vanilla render, no Photoshop:

    A bit of Photoshop:

    A bit more Photoshop:
    imageshack.us/photo/my-images/42/720psd.png/
A bit more Photoshop with lines:

Choose whichever one you like the best, I know that's a lot of options, but I figured it'd be easier this way.

I liked that one as well, but I thought it might be too realistic looking for a Visual Novel.
